Girly Nail Art!

This is my favorite girly nail look right now! The picture does not do the pink justice. It is like Barbie doll pink! I have done this nail art a few times in the past couple of months. The polish just goes on so glassy. It's pretty and fun.

Opi Elephantastic Pink
Sally Hansen White Out

I bought a set of 5 nail art tools for 99 cents on eBay.

October 31st Nails

It's my favorite day if the year tomorrow! My nails are all set and ready to go. Unfortunately I broke two off at work so they are short but short nails can be worked with as well!

Halloween Makeup 2012 #7: Lady Pirate

I went to a Halloween party last night and I didn't want to go the scary route but still have fun makeup. So I went with pirate! I made some scars with rigid collodion. Then just regular makeup over that with a gold smokey eye and and dramatic black liner. People thought the scars were real until they realized it was makeup! My friend when with me and dressed as a broken porcelain doll. We had a bunch of fun!

Scars!!

Here is my trial run of scars for my costume. All I used was Mehron's Rigid Collodion and simple eyeshadows for contouring.

Pirate Nails

So I decided I am going to be a pirate for Halloween and I am spooking it up with a friend tomorrow night so I decided I better get my nails all set. I found the little caviar bits at the dollar store of all places. I was pleased with the outcome and they will match my outfit nicely.

Witchy Web Nails

I wanted a more simple nail look this week so I went for a flat color and kept the nail art to a minimum. The nail color is Loreal but I'm not sure of the color name. The webs are nail decals from OPI.

Flesh Wounds

This is the first time I bought a tub of liquid latex. I wanted to try a wound on my arm first before I went to the face.

Shari's Berries

My aunt sent me these delicious fruits for my birthday. They are seriously too cute to eat.

Batty Nails

So this Saturday is my 21st birthday. Living in Wisconsin I should be bar hopping like no other, but instead I forced my family to taking me to the Minnesota ballet. This year they are performing Dracula and I am so excited. My nail art was designed for this of course. Unfortunately I rushed and they didn't turn out very good but it happens when you are using every ounce of your being to learn statistics.

Opi Siberian Nights

Candles :)

So I bought a million and a half fall candles at Bath and Body Works. I also picked up these super cute mini holders! All the fall scents are amazing. My favorites are apple crumble, pumpkin cupcake, and autumn day. My absolute favorite is pumpkin carving which is limited edition! It smells amazing!

Frankenstein Nails!

I have already shared how much I love Frankenstein. I painted my nails with a little inspiration from him.

Opi Zom-Body to Love (glow base)
China Glaze Luxe and Lush flakies

All you need is the head of a pin and a tooth pick. Dot the polka dots and eyes with the pin head and make small stitches and the mouth with the tooth pick.

Halloween Makeup Model : Katie

Not many people have a best friend that they share a name with. Even less have one that will let them paint their face. I am lucky to have both :)

So my lovely model allowed me to do Halloween makeup on her. It turned out a to be a little green avatar fairy type of look. The eyes and lips where my favorite.

Haunted Ship!

Last night I took my annual tour of the haunted ship! I have been hitting up this haunted house since I was 12. It's a lot of fun because you can not find haunted ships anywhere. This ship is so maze like and spooky anyway it adds to the excitement. I am lucky to live right next door to Duluth so I can go to this Halloween attraction. This year the William A Irvin was transformed into a zombie outbreak I am terrified of zombies as it is and I will say this year might be one of the scariest. I loved it! It was such a blast hanging on to friends for dear life and screaming at the top of your lungs. I can't wait to go again!

Halloween Fingers!

Okay. These are a tad obnoxious, but so am I and Halloween was made for us crazy folk. Wear it proud :)

The black polish with the orange glitter is from Orly's Halloween collection 2012 in R.I.P. and the orange base is OPI He's My Boo spider decal is from OPI

Halloween Makeup 2012 #6: Magenta, Rocky Horror Picture Show

Who doesn't like Rocky Horror? It's bizarre and quirky. Going to a live production may be one of the most fun things to do around this time of year. You get to dress up, throw toast, spray people with water, yell obscenities at the cast, it's the best! For some reason this one is a favorite.

Halloween Makeup 2012 #5: The Monster's Mate

In Frankenstein, the Monster asks Victor to create a mate for him. If he obliges they will run away together never to be seen by humankind again. Victor is fearful that the Monster will reproduce and when he sees his finished mate for the fiend he destroys her. I really like the plot of Frankenstein. I feel that it is a true horror. A man's mistake killing what he loves dearly and haunting him forever.

Halloween Makeup 2012 #4: Winifred Sanderson

I think most people would agree that Hocus Pocus is a classic when it comes to Halloween movies. It's one of my favorites. And like me, Winnie is crazy as ever. This didn't turn out as good as I wanted, but I worked with what I had.

Happy October 1st!

The time has come! My favorite month of the year. October brings the beautiful fall colors and spooky things. Oktoberfest, hay rides, haunted ships and apple cider are only a few things that make October my favorite. I decided to celebrate with an October inspired manicure.

glow-in-the-dark base with orange tips
China Glaze Ghoulish Glow
Opi He's My Boo

The picture doesn't do the glow-in-the-dark justice. It's the best glowing polish I have found. The ink Opi glows are fun too but have color to them.

My first pumpkin carving of 2012 !!!!

This one is Harry Potter themed. Harry runs through my veins. I live and breath it. I made this pumpkin carving for a MuggleNet contest.

Halloween Makeup 2012 #3 : Lucy Westerna

When Dracula drains Lucy's blood and she starts transforming into a vampire, she becomes more porcelain and beautiful. I hated the movie adaptations of her. They were more devil's bride than gorgeous vampire. The children she bites say it was a beautiful woman. Clearly the movie Lucy is not what Bram Stoker had in mind. This is my version of Lucy, with the exception of gorgeous curls and the like.

Halloween Makeup 2012 #2: Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West

The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies as well as the book Wicked. There is a lot more to Elphaba then what we see in the Wizard of Oz. Turns out that she wasn't always evil and that she and Glinda used to be the best of friends. I love her character so much and growing up I was a witch every other Halloween. #2 is for the Wicked Witch of the West.
